Content Policy

1. Introduction and Scope

Classeasily aims to foster a positive, respectful, and safe learning environment. This Content Policy outlines the types of content and conduct that are permitted or prohibited on the Classeasily Platform. It applies to all User Content, including Listings (text, images, videos), reviews, ratings, messages, profile information, and any other materials shared by Users.

By using the Platform, you agree to abide by this Content Policy, in addition to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or termination.

2. General Principles

We expect all Users to interact with respect, honesty, and professionalism. Your content should be relevant to the Classeasily Platform and its purpose of connecting Students and Hosts for learning experiences.

  • Authenticity: Content should be truthful and accurately represent the Classes offered or the experiences had. Do not impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation.
  • Respect: Treat other Users with courtesy. Do not engage in harassment, bullying, or hate speech.
  • Safety: Do not post content that promotes dangerous activities, self-harm, or illegal acts.
  • Legality: Ensure your content complies with all applicable laws and regulations in Ontario and Canada, as well as any applicable local laws.

3. Prohibited Content

The following types of content are strictly prohibited on the Classeasily Platform:

3.1. Illegal Content

Content that violates any applicable law, including but not limited to content related to illegal goods or services, child exploitation, or inciting illegal acts.

3.2. Intellectual Property Infringement

Content that infringes on the copyright, trademark, patent, or other intellectual property rights of others. See our Copyright Policy for reporting procedures.

3.3. Hate Speech and Discrimination

Content that attacks, demeans, or promotes discrimination, hatred, or violence against individuals or groups based on attributes like race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or serious medical conditions.

3.4. Harassment, Bullying, and Abuse

Content or conduct that targets individuals with unwanted behavior, threats, intimidation, humiliation, or sexual solicitation. This includes persistent unwanted messages and malicious personal attacks.

3.5. Violence and Graphic Content

Content that depicts gratuitous violence, promotes violent extremism, threatens violence, or is excessively gory or shocking.

3.6. Sexually Explicit Content

Pornographic or explicit sexual content. Content depicting non-consensual sexual acts or promoting illegal sexual services.

3.7. Dangerous Activities and Regulated Goods

Content promoting dangerous activities that could lead to serious harm, or facilitating the sale of regulated goods like firearms, drugs, or alcohol outside legal frameworks.

3.8. Spam, Scams, and Deceptive Practices

Unsolicited commercial messages (spam), phishing attempts, fraudulent schemes, posting repetitive content, or manipulating reviews and ratings.

3.9. Misinformation and Disinformation

Content that is demonstrably false and intended to cause harm, such as harmful health misinformation or content undermining civic processes.

3.10. Impersonation

Impersonating another person, brand, or organization in a deceptive manner.

3.11. Privacy Violations

Sharing private or confidential information of others without their explicit consent (doxxing), including non-public contact information, financial details, or intimate images/videos.

4. Specific Guidelines for Listings

Hosts must ensure their Listings are:

  • Accurate and Complete: Truthfully describe the Class, schedule, location, requirements, and what is included.
  • Relevant: Images and descriptions must be directly related to the Class offered.
  • Appropriate: Avoid misleading 'bait-and-switch' tactics or discriminatory pricing/availability not based on objective criteria.
  • Compliant: Adhere to all guidelines in Section 3 (Prohibited Content).

5. Specific Guidelines for Reviews

Reviews should be:

  • Based on Actual Experience: Only leave reviews for Classes you have actually booked and attended (or were scheduled to attend).
  • Relevant: Focus on the Class experience, the Host's conduct, and the accuracy of the Listing.
  • Unbiased: Do not extort, incentivize positive reviews, or post retaliatory reviews.
  • Respectful: Avoid personal attacks, hate speech, or harassment (as outlined in Section 3).
  • Non-Commercial: Do not include promotional material or links in reviews.

Hosts should not review their own classes or manipulate the review system.

6. Enforcement

Classeasily reserves the right, but does not have the obligation, to monitor User Content and enforce this Policy. Enforcement actions are taken at our sole discretion and may include:

  • Removing or disabling access to content that violates this Policy.
  • Issuing warnings to Users.
  • Suspending User accounts.
  • Terminating User accounts.
  • Reporting illegal activities to law enforcement authorities.

We consider the severity and frequency of violations when determining the appropriate enforcement action.

7. Reporting Violations

If you encounter content or behavior that you believe violates this Content Policy, please report it to us immediately. You can typically report content directly through features on the Platform (e.g., 'Report Listing', 'Report Review') or by contacting our support team.

Please provide specific details about the content or user and the reason you believe it violates the policy. We investigate reports seriously but may not be able to share the outcome due to privacy considerations.

8. Policy Updates

We may update this Content Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services or legal requirements. We will post the updated policy on the Platform and indicate the 'Last Updated' date.
