Our Fee Structure Explained

At ClassEasily, we aim for a transparent and straightforward fee structure. We connect Guests seeking unique experiences with talented Hosts offering workshops and activities. Our fees help us operate the platform, provide support, and continuously improve our services.

All prices on the Platform are in Canadian Dollars (CAD) unless stated otherwise. For Guests, the total amount displayed at checkout, including taxes, is the final price you will be charged. For Hosts, the price you set for your experience is the starting point from which we automatically deduct our service fee to calculate your final payout.

Fees for Guests

Experience Price

This is the pre-tax price set by the Host for their Experience or Workshop (single session or full course).

Harmonized Sales Tax (HST)

For all transactions within Canada, applicable Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) will be calculated based on the Experience Price and added to your total at checkout. The final price you see before paying will include all applicable taxes.

Fees for Hosts (Instructors & Businesses)

ClassEasily Service Fee

For each completed booking, ClassEasily deducts a Service Fee from the Host's payout. This fee is calculated as a percentage of the pre-tax Experience Price set by the Host.

  • Current Service Fee: 20% of the pre-tax Experience Price (subject to change with notice).

Example: A Host lists an experience for $100. A Guest in Ontario books it. At checkout, the Guest pays $100 + 13% HST = $113. The ClassEasily Service Fee is 20% of the $100 Experience Price, which is $20. The Host's payout will be calculated as follows:

  • Original Experience Price: $100.00
  • Less ClassEasily Service Fee: -$20.00
  • Plus HST collected on your portion (13% of $80): +$10.40
  • Total Host Payout: $90.40

In this scenario, ClassEasily remits the HST on its $20 fee ($2.60), and the Host is responsible for remitting the $10.40 of HST they received in their payout.

Payouts

Payouts to Hosts are typically processed via Stripe Connect approximately 24–48 hours after an experience or session has been successfully completed, according to the schedule outlined in your Host dashboard and subject to Stripe's processing times. Payout details can be managed in your Host account settings. A minimum payout amount may apply; smaller balances are carried forward and paid when the total meets the minimum at the next payout run. Payouts may be delayed or fail due to Stripe, account setup (e.g. incomplete Connect onboarding), or other technical reasons. Hosts must ensure their payout account is valid and that they resolve any Stripe or account issues.

Taxes (Host Responsibility)

To simplify the process, ClassEasily automatically calculates and collects the applicable HST from the Guest. We remit the portion of HST applicable to our Service Fee. The remaining portion of the HST, collected on the Host's share of the revenue, is included in the Host's payout.

Hosts are solely responsible for remitting the HST they receive in their payout to the appropriate government authorities. ClassEasily acts as a collection agent for the Host's portion of the tax but does not remit it on their behalf. Hosts are also responsible for all other tax obligations, such as income tax on their earnings. We recommend consulting with a tax professional to understand your specific obligations.

Widget Subscription Plans (Hosts)

Hosts may subscribe to a Widget Subscription plan to access the embeddable booking widget, marketplace listing, and plan-specific features. All Widget Subscription fees are billed monthly in CAD and automatically renew unless cancelled, as described in our Terms of Service.

  • Basic: CAD $29/month — includes widget on your website, marketplace listing, and a 4% per-booking commission on widget bookings.
  • Growth: CAD $49/month — includes everything in Basic, plus branded booking emails, widget analytics, automated reminders, memberships, promo codes, and a 3% per-booking commission on widget bookings.
  • Advanced: CAD $89/month — includes everything in Growth and a 2% per-booking commission on widget bookings.

Per-booking commission rates apply to bookings completed through your widget (not marketplace bookings, which are subject to the ClassEasily Service Fee above). Current plan features and pricing are also displayed in your Host dashboard.

Add-on Subscriptions (Hosts)

Hosts may purchase optional Add-on Subscriptions in addition to a Widget Subscription or marketplace account. Add-on fees are billed monthly in CAD unless otherwise stated.

  • Marketplace Email Branding: CAD $7/month — send marketplace booking confirmations and reminders under your brand.
  • Email Marketing: Tiered plans from CAD $6/month to CAD $59/month, based on monthly send limits and features. Current tiers and limits are displayed in your Host dashboard at purchase.

Corporate Bookings

Corporate group bookings may be subject to a platform fee (currently approximately 13% of the booking value, subject to change with notice) and custom payment terms, including deposit and balance schedules. Specific fees, deposit percentages, and cancellation terms are disclosed during the corporate booking process or in a separate corporate agreement.

Payment Processing

We use Stripe, a secure third-party payment processor, to handle all transactions on the Platform. Stripe's standard processing fees are covered by ClassEasily's Service Fee.

You do not need a separate Stripe account as a Guest. Hosts will set up a Stripe Connect account through ClassEasily during their onboarding process to receive payouts.

Chargeback and Dispute Fees: If a payment is disputed through a chargeback or similar process, Stripe may assess a dispute fee (currently approximately CAD $15 per dispute). This fee may be passed to the User responsible for the disputed transaction (Guest or Host, as applicable) and deducted from payouts or charged to the payment method on file, as described in our Terms of Service.

Cancellations and Refunds

Fees related to cancellations and refunds are determined by the Host's chosen cancellation policy for the specific Experience, as outlined in the Listing and our Terms of Service. Any taxes collected will be refunded in accordance with the refundable amount of the Experience Price.

Changes to Fees

ClassEasily reserves the right to modify its fees at any time. We will provide Users with advance notice of any fee changes before they become effective. Continued use of the Platform after a fee change constitutes acceptance of the new fees.
